GPU Marketplace
Hyperbolic
The AI boom created an unprecedented demand for compute - far beyond early forecasts. While startups and engineers struggle to secure GPUs, many smaller data centers actually operate with unused capacity.
Solution
Hyperbolic’s GPU marketplace connects these two sides, integrating global data center partners into a unified platform that standardizes configuration, pricing, and provisioning.
My Role
As the founding and sole designer on the team, I designed the platform from scratch, translating complex supplier constraints and networking configurations into a scalable and developer-first experience.
Designing the Structural Model
I began by designing the system skeleton before designing the interface.
GPU rental is a lifecycle with layered constraints across compute, storage, and capacity models.
Grounding the product in this structure allowed the UI to mirror real infrastructure mental models.
Designing the Decision Model
GPU rental decisions for AI startups and technical builders are highly multi-dimensional, but not all constraints matter at the same time.
I designed the interface around a clear hierarchy of decision anchors, prioritizing the choices that define feasibility and cost, while deferring secondary considerations until they become relevant.
